The global state of evidence on interventions to prevent child marriage
This systematic review looks at the successfulness of interventions to prevent child marriage used in the last 20 years, grouped by type: empowerment, schooling, community and economic assistance. It finds that:
- Increasingly, packages of intervention types are being used, rather than single interventions
- Empowerment approaches were the most successful
- Economic approaches were the least successful
- Few studies give details of cost or scalability
