The paper by the Population Council shows first results from a baseline study carried out in four cities in Kenya, where 3,224 girls aged 15-19 were interviewed. It finds that intimate partner violence is more likely to happen to married adolescent girls who work without saving money and whose husbands don't trust them with money. The researchers make some recommendations to help reduce risks of violence for girls.
