Girls Not Brides has created a series of case studies as part of the interactive Theory of Change to illustrate how members are working in a variety of ways towards ending child marriage.
Women for Afghan Women's family guidance centres and women's shelters provide essential services to women and girls who are affected by child and forced marriage. The organisation provides legal aid, counselling and mediation services. Those who are in serious danger or have nowhere to live are referred to a safe and confidential shelter.
This case study explores the types of support married and at-risk girls need, as well as the challenges faced when implementing this type of work in unstable contexts like Afghanistan.
