Determinants of child and forced marriage in Morocco: stakeholder perspectives on health, policies and human rights

Despite the introduction of a Family Code granting women groundbreaking rights in Morocco, child and forced marriage persists.

The article finds four underlying determinants of child and forced marriage:

• Legal and social divergence in conceptualising child and forced marriage


• Limited impact of legislation


• Lack of education


• Economic deprivation
