Violence against women and girls: Lessons from South Asia

This report looks at the drivers and factors associated with gender-based violence across South Asia. It finds that violence against women and girls is prevalent and persistent and the costs are crippling to individuals, societies and economies.

Drawing on various disciplines to review a large body of literature, it provides a comprehensive overview of the prevalence of violence, including the practice of child marriage, and highlights gaps where further research and interventions are needed.
